I just got a Gamecube for my birthday :D
Are there any must-haves for the system? I never thought I'd own one, so I never followed the games.
Oh, Nintendo, honey, no. Just no.
Bah, I'm still going to call it the Revolution. Here's hoping it really is some kind of weird publicity stunt :/
Silent Hill is in theaters today! I'd go see it, then come back here and blather about it, but I'm pretty broke right now :/
So here's your homework: Go see it, then tell us what you thought! Did they finally make a video game into a movie that doesn't suck, or can I stop holding my breath?
Well, allright. Not homework per se, you don't have to if you don't want. But it'd be nice to not be the only one trying to start discussions on here :p
And while I'm posting: I hate the freaking snake in Resident Evil: DS. Seriously, where is the logic in this? Here you have a massive, man-eating poisonous snake that is currently interested in swallowing you whole. You have a number of weapons at your disposal, including a shotgun, a magnum, and maybe a bazooka. And the course of action your character chooses is to try to take it down with a knife. Argh.
Hi! My name is Brittany. I'm 19 (20 on 6/6) annnnd I like games. I'm also an anime fan, cosplayer (my LJ info shows my Tifa and Zelda costumes), and Japanese music fan.
1. What are your top 5 favourite games, and why?
1) Final Fantasy VI (6) - Celes Chere. That's my reason!
2) Star Ocean: Til the End of Time - I reeeeeally love this game. As soon as I saw the artwork when the game was in production I knew I would love it. It just took forever to get here! When I was in Japan in '03 I went into a game store and humped the box and then it finally came out here and I played it non-stop and did everything. The best part was the Freya and Lenneth (Valkyrie Profile) cameos.
3) The Legend of Zelda: the Ocarina of Time - This game is my favorite from the Legend of Zelda franchise.
4) Super Mario Bros 3 - always fun and I never get sick of it.
5) Star Wars: KOTOR - soooo addicting.
just for fun: SNOOD!!!
2. What's your favourite console(s)?
My favorites are the SNES and PS2. Those consoles have the best RPGs. My PSP and DS are a bit neglected but I'm hoping to buy new games soon. I have about 20 consoles/handhelds total but that's because I seldom trade anything in.
3. If you're planning on getting a next-gen console, which one, and why?
All of them eventually. I've got the 360 but my only games are DOA4 and Elder Scrolls 4.
4. Do you play PC games at all?
I have an ancient computer with Windows Millenium. Enough said -_-;; as much as I would love to play my FFXI, it's just not possible at the moment. The last MMORPG I played was PSO on Dreamcast because I'm just not into computers.
5. Finally, put down any screen names, email addresses, ect that you'd like to have other members contact you at. (very optional!)

I'm usually a lurker in most of my communities, but I suppose I'll post an intro :)
I'm Sarah. I have been playing computer games since I was a small child (if old-school children's games count), my favorites change often. Right now my only console is a PS2, but I think I like the Gamecube a little better. My current favorite games include Katamari Damacy/We ♥ Katamari, the Warioware games, DDR/Karaoke Revolution, Kingdom Hearts, and the Sims 2 for the PC. I used to play World of Warcraft...but the 'takes over your life' factor forced me to realise I had to quit.
I've always had a space in my heart for Nintendo systems, as that's what I remember from being little and getting to see Mario being played at a neighbor's house (I have never gotten more than a level or two into Mario myself though O_o). My first console was the GameBoy Color, and I think the Game Boy/Nintendo DS/whatever they call it now console remains my favorite...Gamecube if it has to be hooked up to a TV.
I will have no money or reason to buy any of the new consoles for a while...
Contact info is on my profile...and half the community members (as of when I joined) know me anyway :)
My name is Amy, and I'm 30 years old and live in the city. I've been gaming since the Atari 2600, and currently share my home with my fiance, four cats, and a Playstation 2. I primarily like to play RPGs, and I'm slowly working my way through Dragon Quest VIII right now (I think that I'm about halfway through.) I'm currently frustrated by the lack of two-player co-operative RPGs, since my fiance and I enjoy playing them together. Our project of the moment is Lord of the Rings: The Third Age, which we play when we really should be doing something more useful. :) I've also enjoyed playing Sims 2 and Katamari Damacy as of late, and was obsessed with Incredible Crisis a few years back.
We don't own any other consoles at the moment, but I am intrigued by the Nintendo Revolution and am excited about the PS3, although I'm sure I won't be able to afford one when they finally come out. I don't do a lot of PC-based gaming, but I used to spend a lot of time on MUDs, back in the day. I've also been known to become seriously addicted to the Civilization series, but my computer is far too old and crappy to play Civ IV, so I'm able to attend to the basic functions of life instead... :)
Anyway, thanks for starting this community! I'm really looking forward to hearing from other female gamers!
Hi! I'm Kimmi, the creator of this community. I'm 18, and a giant nerd.
If I had to pick, I'd say my favourite console would be the Ps2. It may not be the best in terms of graphics, but it has most of my favourite games.
I love quirky, humourous games like Katamari Damacy, Shadow Hearts, Disgaea, ect., and games with great storylines/music (read: the Persona series)
I'm currently playing Kindgom Hearts II. It's so cute and cheesy, I can't help but love the story :D
My money's on the Revolution for the next-gen war. I really admire Nintendo for taking risks like they have (and making it cheap, too!). The only real complaint I've heard about the Revolution (besides not supporting hi-def, wah wah wah) is that people are worried they'll make too many gimmicky games around the new controller. I say, if it's fun, who cares?
I used to play a few online games with my PC (Gunbound, Ragnarok Online), but it's a pile of crap with dial-up now, so that's out of the question. :p
